History Journal Rojia Rashidfarrukhi This paper was written about a man named Eduardo Oviedo, who is 66 years old and is accused of locking his wife and son in a cell covered in dirt with old mattresses, for almost two years. His 32-year-old son is autistic and his 61-year-old wife has psychiatric issues. The prosecutor, Alejandro Pellegrini accused Mr. Oviedo, who is a former contract worker, of keeping his wife and son in a cell made of iron bars and an iron door. He also stated that piles of rubble were found as well as pet food in the cage. On top of that, the wife and son were said to have their own excrements in bags around them. This decision was made after years of lobbying by Argentina and Greece in order to fix a debt problem. This is also working to protect them from cutbacks and reforms that threaten the stability of their political and economic lifestyle. Argentina has been in a battle with a small group of hedge funds for years now with over 90% creditors. They are still awaiting a resolution after an appeal to a New York court that supported the hedge fund’s demand. He supposedly fled Argentina after the death of a star prosecutor, Alberto Nisman, The mystery of his death has triggered a “political earthquake.” Nisman was shot dead in his bathroom in January a few days following his accusations against president Kirchner of conspiring to cover up the Iranian involvement in the 1994 bomb attack on a Jewish Community resulting in the death of 85 people. Kirchner claimed that Nisman’s death was “stage-managed” by Sriuso to incriminate her government. When President Kirchner addressed the United Nations in New York, she didn’t mention any names, but claimed that he, Stiuso, is being protected. Stiuso has been on of Nisman’s closest collaborators in the investigation of the 1994 bombing and is also the president’s most trusted advisor. Nisman and Stiuso had a large amount of evidence that was used to charge a group of Iranian officials before Stiuso and the president had a falling out.
