The Bouffant, Beehive, Short Sharp cuts, Long hair, Ponytails, Bangs, and Perm were all worn in the 60’s. Jackie Kennedy, Lady Bird Johnson, The Supremes, and Dusty springfield were the main ladies who influenced the Bouffant hairstyle. The Bouffant varied in size from happily rounded to very large, and this style was easy to wear and popular among all ages. In this hairstyle the hair was always backcombed and finished with a smooth, rounded exterior with the ends of hair flipped up or smoothed under. The creation of the Beehive is credited to Margaret Vinci Heldt. She was asked by Modern Beauty Salon magazine to create a new hairstyle to reflect the coming decade and so the Beehive was born.
