Throughout this course, I have realized that early childhood educators and caregivers use a lot of energy, social-emotionally and physically. Meeting every child's individual needs can be exhausting. There are millions of reasons why being a preschool teacher is fruitful, but it can sometimes be very challenging. An educators goal is to make a change in the youth's lives. Teaching one child, let alone a whole schoolroom of blossoming students is no smooth job. Being an early childhood education teacher requires studying education from a school that specializes in training teachers. Only a preschool education focused degree program can give you all the skills you need to be a great educator.Teachers and caregivers have particular importance and dedication for helping young kids and watching them learn and accomplish things. You need to be respected because their job can be a lot harder than primary school and secondary school educators. Teachers will be challenged to find new experiences to share with children. Our roles as educators are to guide children, do not take advantage of them, and move in a direction that interests the child. Not saying that one job is harder than the other but to nurture is to nourish. Nurturing a child develops all forms of development, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. At every point, a teacher should nurture proper growth and development. Teaching a child how to learn and control these emotions can be a tough thing to teach a child. All teachers and caregivers connect with many people throughout the day such as parents, children, support staff, the general public, and administrators. Teachers are major learning resources in a young child’s life. “Teaching young children is one of the most important and most difficult of educational jobs.” (Edwards, Knight, 1). With these things in mind, how effective are early childhood learning programs? What are their purposes? Through this research paper all of these questions and more will be answered. We will review the purpose of each program and it’s effects on the students. The purpose of this research paper is to investigate the effectiveness of early childhood learning programs with respect to the long-term academic achievement of those students who attend the early childhood programs.
Although I had a variety of options to choose from as my career, I was very passionate to take the path of an Early Childhood Educator. This was to not only inspire the young children that are going to be looking up to me, but to be an educator that will help guide the children to become the best they can be in the present and future. I believe with all the support I can provide my future students, they can achieve the basic knowledge required to move on towards attaining higher academic accomplishments.
I like how it says “it takes a special kind of person,” because this is very true. Not every person can work with young children and not every type of person will enjoy working with infants and toddlers. I really did not have to read this section to know this but do agree that the role as teacher to toddlers or infants is very exhausting (“quite demanding emotionally and physically.”) and yet very rewarding. My aspiration to become an educator of the youth began from my experiences in high school. Working with small children as a young adult unveiled my eyes to the beauty of child development. I began to realize how vital those beginning years are in every child’s life. By nature, I am a helper and I never stop caring for others. I chose to study early childhood and childhood education for my undergraduate degree because I genuinely wanted to know more about how children learn and grow.
What separates a good teacher from a great Teacher? “First and foremost a teacher must love working with children. Communication is a significant part of being an early childcare educator (ECE). As an early childhood educator my job is not to simple play with children. I must plan, provide and supervise all while “playing” with my students. The classroom serves as the physical environment for the children for most of their waking hours. These classrooms need to be attractive and function effectively. Concerns for any early childhood educator should always include space, equipment and materials used, outdoor space and the daily schedule to ensure that all students are provided ample opportunities to learn and grow within a safe and secure environment.
