Today early care and education is becoming more diverse. Many early care educators face challenging tasks. Children of all generations have always been raised by families, friends, and the neighborhood. Education experiences for young children should emphasize meaning making and the construction of knowledge. Early care programs tend to mimic how the child’s background at home, which gives the parent a choice of putting their child in the program due to their views of education and discipline. Early care and education plays a major role in a child’s learning. In order to, keep an early care and education program running you need to make sure the most important responsibilities are established.

If a child hears something bad or good, that child most likely will repeat it. During music time in Pre-K, the children are listening to a number song to learn how to count. Eventually the children will learn to count. Not all children listen or watch others to learn something they are called self-taught children. Self-taught children are the ones that will constantly repeat something over and over until they get it right. If a child sees that all her peers know how to tie their shoes, she will take the time to teach herself when no one else not willing too.
The most important responsibilities of early care and education are health and safety, personnel policies, and services to children. Health and safety procedures should ne done accordingly to the handbook. Before changing any diaper, uses gloves. After changing a diaper, throw gloves away and wash hands thoroughly. Always sanitize toys, cots, cribs, and napping cots after every use. Keep chemicals and medications out of reach of children. Make sure to know which child can have a certain food item. Make sure to check to see who is dropping or picking up a child.
