Race shouldn’t be the way how people are seen and treated. In the book “Dutchman and The slave” by LeRoi Jones (Amiri Baraka) demonstrates the racial problems of how people with different color see each other. The Dutchman and The slave misjudgement of race that all race with same color are the same. This judgement shows how the world see other people with different ethnicity, culture, and race different from them. This misunderstanding cause big wars and fights between people of different race. Dutchman and The Slave has a huge meaning surrounding the racial problems within the book which draws readers intention to refer with the world outside and how it 's the same and different. These two plays gives the diversity of the world and its inception.
In Dutchman, it begins with an twenty-year old african american named Clay. He was on the train to visit a friend until an beautiful red hair white woman named Lula accompanied him. Clay was a young intelligent young man with patience and knowledge while Lula was a liar, criminal, and racial woman. Dutchman and The Slave show who judgmental people are based on their color of skin and ethnic. Just because they 're the same color doesn’t always mean the will act the same as any other person with the same skin. This misinterpretation cause conflicts and fights. Never judge a book by it’s cover. People might have the same skin but might be really different from who you think they are and what they do. This introduction of racial misjudgement helps readers understand more about characters traits and understanding the theme of the book.
