Some people are putting themselves at a higher risk of facing road traffic accident claims by failing to understand simple car maintenance. The problem doesn't get better with age; while just 1% of men aged over 50 lack basic car repair knowledge, this rises to almost 20% among women of this age. Among people aged 18 to 24, while 10% of males admit to not knowing how to complete the above tasks, this rises to 24% among women.
