Dodger Stadium is one of the most iconic Landmarks in America. It is the home to one of the most popular MLB team’s, The Los Angeles Dodgers. This highly acclaimed structure was built in 1962 and is home to many people’s favorite place on earth. From the L.A freeway to the illustrious skyline, the travel to Dodger stadium is a ride you won’t forget. Walking through the gates and into the stadium is a surreal experience that will leave you with nothing but a smile on your face. In 1979, the Los Angeles Dodgers were on a mission to find a new type of baseball player. Due to a conflict which developed as a result of the construction of the new Dodger stadium, Dodger management was having a difficult time marketing to the ever growing Mexican population in Los Angeles. In an attempt to start a baseball following within the Latino community, Dodger scouts were sent to Mexico to find a player who could garner the attention of Mexican Americans in southern California.
The Dallas Cowboys, America’s football team, one of the most well known professional football franchises in the sport’s history. The Cowboys own five super bowl titles, which were won in ’71, ’77, ’92, ’93 and ’95. They are also home to 19 renowned individuals who have been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame including standout football stars Tony Dorsett, Emmit Smith, and Troy Aikman. Established in 1960, the Cowboys have been a dominating force on the field and still continue to produce to this day. Forbes wrote, “The Cowboys franchise value reaches over 1.85 billion and are listed as the third most valued sports team in the world”, (Page 1). With all of this hype and world wide recognition the powerhouse from Dallas needs a venue just as prominent as the team itself as well as having the capability to hold all the weight the Cowboys name carries.

Other marketing strategies used in during this farewell season are commemorating former players, coaches, and hall of famers as well as a count down display in left field. The display is being used to count down the number of home games left this season. The count down will reach zero during the 5th inning of the final home game against The Detroit Tigers which has almost been sold out, nearly six months in advance. These marketing strategies have proven to be beneficial and should be continued considering the attendance is up from last year. However, there is always room for improvements. The Atlanta Braves should consider new marketing strategies to improve fan experiences which will improve overall fan satisfaction as discussed earlier. Strategies to improve fan experience involve anything that will create a “valued experience” for a consumer (Sarstedt, 2014). Bringing old traditions from Turner Field to SunTrust Park is one way to create a valued experience for fans who are disgruntled over the move to Cobb County. Being that the Atlanta Braves are a team of tradition, it would be wise to implement old traditions in the new stadium to not only satisfy the concerns of disgruntled fans, but to bring a sense of community to the new stadium for the entire fan base.

The most recognized sports franchise in the world. People on the other side of the world would kill to see the Yankees and their favorite players right before their very eyes. The classiest organization in all of sports, even forbidding hair below the lower lip. The Yankees are forever being mentioned in pop-culture: songs, movies, television shows, etc. The Yankee hat is the most beloved and coveted piece of sports apparel that exists. From Nelson Mandela to Jay-Z, and from Rudy Giuliani to Muhammad Ali, some of the greatest and most influential men who have ever lived sport the Yankee cap with pride. Yankee Stadium is the cathedral of sports. The perfectly manicured grass and electricity of the crowd and fellow fans is breathtaking. You can explore the history in the Yankees Museum, where signed memorabilia, World Championship trophies, and other astonishing pieces of history are put on display for the fans. Or visit Monument Park, and pay visit to the plaques belonging to the greatest who have ever played. Hungry? Your choices are endless. Sit down for a five-course meal at NYY Steak for one of the best steaks that New York has to offer. Or stop at Lobel’s Gourmet Steak Sandwiches for some mouthwatering pulled pork. Enjoy a draft beer at the Malibu Rooftop Deck, while overlooking the Manhattan skyline; or order up a Hurricane from the Mohegan Sun Sports Bar and enjoy the game overlooking centerfield. Communitas can be considered an important value to the world of sports. However, some people do not understand the concept of communitas. According to Victor Turner (1969), communitas is “an unstructured community in which people are equal, or to the very spirit of community,” (New World Encyclopedia). Trujillo’s study of baseball showed what he thought of communitas. In his periodical, Interpreting (the Work and Talk of) Baseball: Perspective on Ball Ballpark Culture, Trujillo (1992) said that ballpark community results in the development of interpersonal relationships at yearly “family reunions,” known as employee orientation (Western Journal Communication). Communitas is thought differently by other writers and scholars. However, they all come to a Turner’s conclusion that it deals with a temporary community that is equal in every way and is there for single purpose.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have almost gotten into the playoffs and looked like real contenders for the past three years. Yesterday marked the day that they would be officially in the playoffs. They beat the Giants 8 – 0 with Kershaw getting the shutout and launching their campaign into the postseason.
n 1919 the Chicago Black Sox Scandal was a result of the owner Charles Comiskey not paying the baseball players what they were actually worth. The Black Sox felt under appreciated due to how conniving the owner was. He included a baseball reserve clause which stated that any player who refused to accept a contract “from the Black Sox” was prohibited from playing on any other professional baseball team. This involuntarily secured a signature from the baseball players if not they would have to deal with the repercussions that follow, meaning no other baseball career.

Book Report on Baseball: A History of America's Game by Benjamin G. Rader In "Baseball: A History of America's Game", the Author Benjamin G. Rader discusses the history of baseball and how it developed to present day. Rader explains how baseball started as a simple game consisting of no rules besides the players using a stick to hit a ball and its constant evolution to what the game is today. He also displays several issues which America's favorite sport has had while developing into the complex sport it is today. Although baseball has had several trials and tribulations throughout its history, it still remains America's favorite pastime.
Baseball is one of the world's greatest sports and is played almost everywhere in the world. It is also one of the most historic games. The main historic part of baseball deals with the ballparks, the cities, and the teams that have been around for such a long time. Then you have the one and only Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. Fenway Park is the longest standing and is still being used of all the Major League ballparks in the United States. Throughout the 100 years of Fenway Park's existence it has been built, named, burned down, rebuilt, and a whole lot of adding on to the ballpark.
Some of the papers that I wrote throughout the course were mostly things that I felt very close to and loved. Whether it'd be sports, family, or friends, I always had something to write about. For how often I chose these topics, I always learned something from them too. Like with the Red Cross, over 95% of the workers there are volunteers that want to help out those in need after natural disasters.
Many people don't understand the point in playing baseball. Why would someone swing a stick, hit a ball, and try to get back to where they started before the ball returns? What pleasure is there in that? Why not participate in a sport like wrestling or track where there is an obvious level of individual improvement and therefore pleasure. Well, I play baseball because of the love I have for the sport, and because of the feeling that overwhelms me every time I walk onto a baseball field. When I walk onto a field I am given the desire to better myself not only as an athlete, but also as a person. The thoughts and feelings I get drive me to work hard towards my goals and to be a better person. The most relevant example of these feelings is when I stepped on the field at Runyon Complex in Pueblo, Colorado during our high school state playoffs in 2003. This baseball field will always be an important place to me.
In addition, they cover their walls with items of every kind. A baseball fan will have his bedroom walls plastered with posters and ornamented with caps and buttons. When they go to a game, the true baseball fans put on their team colors, grab their pennants, pin on their team buttons, and even bring along hand-lettered bed sheet signs proudly proclaiming "Go Dodgers" or "Braves are Number 1." At the game, these fans form a rooting section, constantly encouraging their favorite players and obediently echoing every cheer flashed on the electronic scoreboard.
