Being the most populous city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario, Toronto is a precise choice. The city of Toronto has dynamic, vivid life, as well as beautiful climate. Toronto has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summer, and cold winter. In addition, the city experiences four distinct seasons with noticeable length, which make city comfortable place to live. Besides, Toronto is not only host to more than 100 different festivals annually, but also home to Canada’s largest museums, art centres and exhibitions, which contributed to the vibrant life there. The most essential reason for me to choose Toronto is its progressive education systems. Students in Toronto Secondary School have a golden chance to develop comprehensively: the school board offers a depth and breadth of programs and supports to meet the unique learning needs and interests of an increasingly diverse population; the schools’ syllabus is elective so that students can choose subjects, that they want to be major in, to study. It is not to mention that the facility in Toronto is of top-class. Facilities in the schools can support many kinds of sports, activities, and experiments, along with lab works. Studying in Toronto school board, I will be encouraged to do extra-curriculum activities and volunteering which make me more sociable and become a well-round student. Last but not least, my great-aunt’s family are Toronto citizens. Last but not least, I want to study in Toronto because my uncle and my great-aunt’s family are Toronto citizens. First, WHCI is a dynamic secondary school that fosters active learning through interaction and involvement. The number of students in the school is about 850, which will be perfect for a new-comer to adapt to changes. In medium-size school, classes are smaller; therefore more individual approach, which means that teachers are more helpful and easier to reach. Schools also offer ESL support, which is of necessity for international students, and advisors center to help students with their problems in everyday life, which make environment in school more friendly and students will have community feel. School location and teaching quality are two most pivotal things I took into consideration. WHCI is not far from my uncle’s house, where I will stay when I am in Toronto; in fact, it is only 5 minutes by car. In terms of students’ GPA and teaching quality, the school is at above average in the city. It is not to mention the variety of school’s clubs and activities. There are over 20 clubs and lots of activities ranging from science, athlete to arts and drama in WHCI. Because of the above reasons, I firmly believe that I can quickly find myself in WHCI, and catch up with lessons in new school. Being able to align myself with the best schools and its support system will provide a great opportunity for me to acquire new knowledge and sharpen my skills.
