Have You even thought about something you have drunk? The Greeks did exactly that they thought a lot about wine, so there became a wine god in Greek mythology his name was Dionysus. In a nutshell Greek mythology was how Greeks explained how the world worked. To along with mythology, Greeks had celebrations involving the god/goddess they also had myths too. Dionysus is sometimes known as the god of the vine they say he's kind and generous most of the time. Dionysus had a large family, a terrible history, interesting physical features, and celebrations in his honor. These are some people close to Dionysus including his mother, father, brothers, sisters, wife and children. First of all, his mother was a mortal and she was named Semele. Later, she died shortly after Dionysus was born. Then, Dionysus’s father was Zeus and he was almighty. Also, he's the one that killed Dionysus’s mother and his wife, Semele. Dionysus had brown hair and wore a white toga and a leopard skirt. He also wore an ivy crown. These are some of Dionysus’s symbols first is a grape vine, it's because wine goes along with grapes. Second, is the leopard it represents his female followers. Finally, is the panther this represents him in myths and art. After all, Dionysus wore very natural things from that time and his symbols were cool too.

In Greek history they had celebrations based around god's. This is a celebration based around Dionysus. Dionysia was a festival made to worship and honor the god Dionysus. These festivals were held in Greece at around March. Men,women, and of course children are allowed to no doubt attend this festival.
