Recommended: Native American culture versus European culture

Native American vs. European Native Americans and Europeans were the begging of the new world. Their differences are more than similarities, whether by the religion, culture, race, and gender. Native Americans and European spoke two different languages, and lived in two different ways. The reason why Native Americans were called Indians, because when Columbus landed in America he thought that he was in India, so he called them Indians. Native American were nomadic people, some of them were hunter and some were farmers. Europeans were much more developed than Native Americans, and had more skills. Native American women had rights more than European women. Native American women held family properties, plus making decisions for the tribes. Indian women were respected by their value to their lands. On the other hand, European women were housewife and give childbirth. European women were not valuable as Native American women. In the documentary “We Shall Remain: After the Mayflower” it shows the relationship between the settlers and Native Americans. At the begging of the documentary it shows how the two different cultural came along and shared their foods, lands and other goods. It points out how good was their relationship and how it turned at the end, war and diseases killed too many of the both sides. In the film “We Shall Remain: After the Mayflower” it proves that Indians people were religious people when Massasoit says “ Please, heavenly father, watch over your child Massasoit” (we shall remain). Overall, There were so many differences between Native Americans cultures And the Europeans. Some of the examples are, the ideas of the lands owner, religion, and the gender. Their differences are more than the similarities. The impact of their cultures it still remains in today’s society. As for the Indians, their attitude was always friendly and full of curiosity when they saw the strange and light-skinned creatures from beyond the ocean. The colonists only survived with the help of the Indians when they first settler in Jamestown and Plymouth. In this areas, the Indians showed the colonists how to cultivate crops and gather seafood.The Indians changed their attitude from welcome to hostility when the strangers increased and encroached more and more on hunting and planting in the Natives’ grounds.
