The night ebbed in the darkness brUGHT t about the memory of the most tragic event in the history of the small town of Greenville. Not knowing the tragedy that would unfold the citizens rested quietly in the slumber of that hot August night. Storm clouds loomed on the horizon with blazes of light that speckled the sky. In the distance the soft rumble of thunder brought no alarm to this quiet little town. Jenny and Blade lived in the rural area of green pine forests on the outskirts of this sleepy little town. Nowhere in the history of Greenville had such a tragedy happens, and no one was aware of the destruction that loomed on the horizon. Jenny lay restlessly sleeping in their rustic log home in the piney woods of the town. Watching the window not knowing why she tossed and turned feeling an uneasiness that she could not shake. The thunder rumbled softly and the lightning on the horizon flashed light across the bedroom walls. The wind began to whistle loudly around the log home. Jenny felt uneasiness, and softly reached to touch the shoulder of Blade. Not awakening him she decided to slip quietly out of bed to peek in the distance of the upcoming tragedy that she never thought would happen. As she moved sleathfully around the house, the windows seemed to rattle an alarm. The wind now not only whistled but wailed in the surrounding pine woods. Not knowing what to do Jenny sat in the living room window searching for a tragedy she felt was about to con some her life Suddenly she felt a touSH on her arm, but quick jerking aroND she saw only the menacing shadows brought by the luminous lightning striking in the night sky. As she turned back to the window the cold ghostly apparition of a small girl stood on the porch. Jenny blinked quickly ,but she was still there motioning for her to come outside. Jenny closed her eyes in horror, and reluctantly opened them again to see no one there. She could not contain her curiosity and softly walked to open the door and slowly walked outside to search for this child who seemed to need her so
