Federal forces retook the Eastern area of Mosul last month from ISIS after more than two years of tyrannical rule by the jihadist group and weeks of bitter combat. It is, I believe, inhuman to leave the king of the jungle, or the king of the animals, to be in this place," Khalil told AFP. A surgical mask covering his face and mouth in a vain attempt at warding off the putrid smell , Khalil loaded sedative darts into a long blowgun and aimed it at Simba's side. The sting drew a huge roar from the lion that briefly covered the distant explosions of artillery and air strikes targeting ISIS on the other bank of the Tigris River. For instance, these forces often threatened certain resources needed by many countries and regions. The result of this was often war or conflict, concluding in a devastating amount of casualties. This also left Iraq with debt as well as very low resources such as food and water. “Virtually 96 percent of their lives are spent in chains or cages,” and “11 months a year they travel over long distances in box cars with no climate control; sleeping, eating, and defecating in the same cage,” as stated by PAWS, Protective Animal Welfare Society, is one of the many organizations that strives to protect animals right and sheds light on this horrific situation that should be stopped at once. This is an insight of what the animals have to endure just for our entertainment. PAWS also discuses when these animals are eventually allowed out of their cages they undergo “extreme ‘discipline’ such as whipping, hitting, poking, and shocking with electrical prods,” for training purposes to ensure that the performance goes without any complications.
