California: Vacation Paradise
Trying to get out of Texas for a change, my family and I decided to take a summer vacation after my senior year. The idea of escaping from heat and humidity sounded so good to me; I was ready for cool, breezy weather. Therefore, California was the perfect location to visit. The thought of California was very attractive where the weather is pleasant all year long, and many different activities are available outdoors, as well. On our way from the East to the West Coast of the United States, I was already in my vacation mood. The plane was flying smoothly; I appeared comfortable in my athletic clothes and felt relaxed as I calmly read the magazines provided for us. It was an hour before landing when I instantly sensed the refreshing air on the plane becoming cooler as we approached Los Angeles. As I walked to the beach, I encountered a feeling that will never be forgotten. Every step I took, my bright green slippers sank into the warm, soft sand and covered my feet. As I lifted my feets up and out of the textured sand, the sand rushed out as I wiggled my toes, almost feeling like a massage. I collected colorful sea shells that varied in shape, and size. The clear, light blue waves which rose higher and higher made music to my ears, especially as the waves came tumbling down. As the sea breeze blew onto my face, my eyes slowly squinted, my hair flew back gently, and the goose bumps slowly began to crawl up my arms. I took a deep breath, and the fresh smell of salt water rushed into my nose. As the waves hit harder, the sun set, and the breeze grew stronger and stronger.
