Demi Lovato is one of the world's most famous american pop star. Demi is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She struggles from several mental illnesses and they affect her life and career every single day. Demi struggles from Depression, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Bipolar disorder. These mental illnesses have affected her life in many ways, but she continues to work through it and benefit from it.
Demi lovato was born on August 20th, 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico (A&E, 2017). She was very passionate about the arts at a immensely young age and started acting when she was a child. Her first acting career was on the television series Barney with friends, which she costarred with her friend, Selena Gomez, who is also remarkably famous as well (A&E, 2017) . As Demi Lovato got older she got the lead role in Disney's Movie Camp Rock, this role was more than just acting, it was also singing and dancing (A&E, 2017) . Demi started using drugs at around the age of 17. She used to sneak her drugs and alcohol around, and she claims that sometimes she couldn’t go 30 minutes without using cocaine. ( Toomey, A , 2013). The depression as well as the drug and alcohol abuse also led to self harm. Demi lovato claims she would cut herself to take her mind off how she really felt on the inside (Shira D. 2016). Demi Lovato says that there were times she felt so anxious, almost like she was crawling out of her skin and that if she didn’t do something physical to match the way she felt inside, she would explode (Lovato D. 2016) Drugs, alcohol, and cutting was her escape goat to get away from her mind and life problems.
