Happiness is a key part in every single person’s life. It is something that everyone tries to achieve throughout his or her lives. Happiness can be a variety of things from success financially to just sharing joy and being with others. According to Dictionary.com happiness is “a mental or emotional state of well being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.” It has also been defined as good fortune, pleasure, and joy.
People pursue happiness in many different ways. One type of way is through purchasing objects, people buy certain things that they think they will like or believe that others will like. Happiness is influenced by a person’s genes, their upbringing, their health, and their work or financial situation. People will do things to compensate for their fears and beliefs in order to achieve their perception of happiness. A person’s happiness can be permanently altered; many people who have long periods of unhappiness are followed by long periods of happiness when they are able to change their perceptions.
