Not only is being a part of the team important in the game but also in life. Learning how to work with other members of a team is something that can be carried over into the work field and all areas of life. Many of these teams are formed starting at very young ages. Which includes, passing from teammate to teammate from one side to another to score goals and defend the opposing team’s goal. In soccer there are two ends to the field, offensive and defensive. Obviously, on one end the team can score and the other, they try to keep the opposing team from scoring. Defensive players can become aggressive as the team defends their end. With this, the offense fights back with the same competitive edge. The linearness of the game can be tough as it involves a lot of running. Abstract: Youth Soccer has recently evolved into a fiercely competitive arena. More and more children are leaving recreational leagues to play in highly competitive select leagues. While select sports are a valuable resource where children can learn how to socialize and become self-motivated, children who start at young ages, ten and eleven, can suffer psychological and physical damage. A child's youth sporting experience is directly influenced by the attitudes, sportsmanship and behavior of their parents and coaches.
There were several factors that played into why I chose to attend Truett-McConnell. I have played soccer since I was five years old and ever since I started I had a dream to play college soccer. My dream was to play soccer at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. My aunts, uncles, both grandparents, mom, dad, and now older brother have all attended Samford. Going there would have been fantastic but God had other plans for me.

Our book defines a group as a collection of people who are perceived to bond together in a coherent unit to some degree (Baron 241). Making a decision isn’t always easy depending on how many people are in the group and if there is any conflict within the group. The basic aspects of a group include roles, status, norms and cohesiveness but when viewing my soccer team I see only certain obvious aspects being present. When thinking about the process in which we, as a group have to make the decision of where to stop for food after an away game, it is obvious that many theories and/or topics can be applied. These theories or topics include evaluation apprehension, social decision schemas, authentic dissent and conflict. The four subjects listed above help explain how a group can come to a decision together.

However, in the case of the goalkeepers, they may use their hands to catch, carry, throw, or stop the ball.' There are no complex rules. No touching the ball only kicking. You have to get the ball into the goal to score a point. There also half times and out of bounds, but it's simple to understand. The competition is what I enjoy the most. I feel the rush of adrenaline shoot through me as I carry the ball down the field, and the other players trying to take it away from me.

Without being able to pass the ball accurately to your teammates, more than likely your team won’t be able to score a goal. The key for passing is to keep things simple. This means passing the ball to your nearest teammate that is not marked by an opponent.

It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.
In conclusion, football and soccer have their similarities, but these similarities are superficial. There are many fundamental differences, such as the use of one’s hands being illegal in soccer, except for the goalie when he/she is inside his/her respective eighteen-yard boundary. Another example is the alternation of a team’s offense and defense in football as opposed to the simultaneous effort of the offense and defense in soccer. These differences in rules, rituals, and concepts distinguish these two sports from each other. However, there are similarities, such as the fact that both sports allow eleven players on each team to play on the field at a time. Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
