Analytical, conceptual, directive, and behavioral are four types of decision making styles. Each style is important in their own way. Sometimes in certain situations using one decision making styles, say directive, will be better than using another, behavioral, and vice versa. Each person has their own decision making styles, but learning the other styles will be helpful and prepare someone more for different situations. A manager who uses the analytical style will have a calculated decision with information from others as well information he or she has gathered. People make decisions every day; some might not be as big as others, but they are still important. Everyone has their own process for determining which solution will be best for different situations. These processes are called decision making styles. The four main decision making styles are the analytical style, the conceptual style, the directive style, and the behavioral style. Although most people have a main decision making style, it is possible for them to learn the other styles as well to make sure they are making the best possible decision. Behavioral people will present several option and make their final decisions with the help of other people. They are focused on relationships with other people, being empathetic, and are team-oriented (Cafferky, 2012). The behavioral decision making style works with others to find a solution all can agree with (Boundless, 2013). A benefit of this style is that a manager will have many different views and opinions over different solutions (Klazema, 2014). However, a negative of this style is that people view it as too sentimental and improper for business (Cafferky, 2012).
