It is important to find who you are in your path toward success .Throughout all 3 of his chapters, Cal Newport has informed the readers of what you need to do in order to get good grades throughout your college career. He has been able to create many different techniques and tips to help you be more successful in college. The tactics he has implemented in his chapters have been very successful when attempting. In Chapter 3, he informs the readers of what it takes to form strong papers in college because of the strictness of their requirements. The main character Neil is taught to pursue his dreams about poetry and writing. This is a strong example of dedication you need to have when trying to write a strong paper. You have to be invested into your writing for it to be powerful or else it will just feel and sound as just another paper. A very motivational quote in Dead Poet Society by Mr.Keating is, "We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race and the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering—these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life, but poetry, beauty, romance, love—these are what we stay alive for." What Mr. Kating is trying to say is that you need to have strong writing and passion to be happy in life as well as be motivated during your writings. The students in the movie follow these teachings to pursue their dreams of poetry writing.
