The fight between Israel and Palestine has been seen as an unfair battle, due to the high-tech supplies given to Israel by the US. Israel’s military is extremely strong and constantly growing, with people joining from all over the world, while Palestine’s main defense is a terrorist group called Hamas. Israel has been forced into building a wall surrounding the Gaza strip to stop these terror attacks from harming the citizens of Israel. Palestine believes that Israel’s fighting is too severe compared to Palestine’s attempts at attacking Israel. Gideon Levy wrote, “Once again, Israel’s violent responses, even if there is justification to them, exceed all proportion and cross every red line of humaneness, morality, international law, and wisdom (Document 5, Palestinian View)”. Israel is doing what it can to fight back against a terrorist group, which has plainly stated that their goal is to destroy the state of Israel (individual source), and the wall has worked so far in keeping them out. Israel is fighting against groups of people who want them dead, while Israel’s goal is to end the fighting so that there can be peace. Although the Palestinians have had a drastic number of deaths and injuries, Israel should not only be allowed to continue getting their weapons from the US, but should also be allowed to keep the wall up. I fully understand that Israel is extremely concerned about it’s safety as it is mostly surround by enemy’s however I do not believe that the oppression and ultimate control of the Palestinians will bring this safety they long for, but do the very opposite instead.
Many disagreements would arise in the negotiation process of the Camp David 2000 Summit that would eventually lead it to be unsuccessful. Disagreements such as the division of territory, the dispute over Jerusalem, Security and Refugee arrangements arose in the negotiation. If a son hits his father should he have his hands cut off. Hammurabi was a king that was trying to help his people by telling them that a god told he about laws to control his land. He made 282 laws in all to try to protect his people. Were king hammurabi’s just. Now you may be thinking are hammurabi’s laws just what, but that is not what we are asking. Just means fair, so what we are asking is that are hammurabi’s codes “fair.” I believe that hammurabi’s laws/codes are unfair. I will look at a few of hammurabi’s laws to try to prove my point.

Instead of having to be controlled like a slave and have to follow a ruler. people from England traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to gain freedom to the New World. The journey was a very long and tedious with exciting expectations of what the new life in the New World was going to be like. Once the colonist got there the reality sank about settling with the natives.
Since the inception of an Israeli nation-state in 1948, violence and conflict has played a major role in Israel’s brief history. In the Sixty-One year’s Israel has been a recognized nation-state, they have fought in 6 interstate wars, 2 civil wars, and over 144 dyadic militarized interstate disputes (MIDs) with some display of military force against other states (Maoz 5). Israel has been involved in constant conflict throughout the past half century. Israel’s tension against other states within the Middle East has spurred vast economic, social, and political unity that has fostered a sense of nationalism and unity in Israel not seen in most other states. Over the next several pages I will try and dissect the reasons for why the nation state of Israel has been emerged in constant conflict and how this conflict has helped foster national unity and identity among the people of Israel.
“There is no such thing as a Palestinian.” Stated former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir after three fourths of one million Palestinians had been made refugees, over five hundred towns and cities had been obliterated, and a new regional map was drawn. Every vestige of the Palestinian culture was to be erased. Resolution 181, adopted in 1947 by the United Nations declared the end of British rule over Palestine (the region between the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River) and it divided the area into two parts; a state for the Jewish and one for the Arab people, Palestine. While Israel was given statehood, Palestine was not. Since 1947, one of the most controversial issues in the Middle East, and of course the world, is the question of a Palestinian state. Because of what seems a simple question, there have been regional wars among Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq, terrorist attacks that happen, sometimes daily, displacement of families from their homes, and growing numbers of people living in poverty. Granting Palestinian statehood would significantly reduce, or alleviate, tensions in the Middle East by defining, once and for all, the area that should be Palestine and eliminating the bloodshed and battles that has been going on for many years over this land.

One one hand, Israel, unlike America, can be pardoned for her isolationist actions as she is a minority country surrounded by enemies. It is a country that’s survived several attacks and wars since its creation as a nation in 1948. It is a country that needs to protect herself from the outside; her enemies are literally her neighbors. If a country needed a wall surrounding it - that country would be Israel. However, Netanyahu fans this fear, and by doing so he rejects the international calls for him to stop creating settlements in occupied territory, thus isolating the country from the international world. Netanyahu justifies his actions through the prism of security. He wants a Jewish state that retains “‘the overriding security control over the entire area west of the Jordan River’ (Cohen).” He rejects withdrawing from the West Bank, due to security fears of Hamas taking control of that region. Like Trump, Netanyahu appeals to his base (religious conservative party), by continuing to build settlements in East Jerusalem and deflecting criticism from the political left and international community. The Treaty of Kadesh was a peace treaty between the Egyptians and the Hittites. The treaty was created in 1258 BCE by Ramesses II and the king of the Hittites, Hattusilis. Archaeologists have found some parts of the tablet, but not the whole thing. The tablet was written in The Akkadian language which was spoken in Ancient Mesopotamia. It was found in the capital of Hittite in Turkey in 1906. Today the tablet is in the Istanbul Archaeological Museum in Turkey. The main idea of why they created this treaty was because they had fought over Kadesh, which was a city in Syria, that the Hittites had taken over and the fight had started around 1274 BCE . Because the Palestinians were furious about owning less land than the Israelis but, they began attacking Israel with bombs and rockets; the angered Palestinians were terrorizing the Israelis with terrorist attacks because they owned more land than they do (Issitt and Montanez - Muhinda). Will this conflict ever be solved? Should the United States get more involved with any of this? Yes, the United States should continue to help the state of Israel because the ambassadors of each country, Israel and Palestine, do not get along very well, the United States’ relationship with Israel will continue to grow and become stronger, and fewer deaths and terrorist attacks will occur in both Israel and Palestine.
Conflict theory are perspective in sociology psychology that accentuate the social, political, or material inequality of a social group, that analysis the broad socio-political system, or that weaken from structural functionalism and ideological conservatism. With conflict theory, you will see tensions, status, and power are unevenly distributed between groups in society, which these conflicts become the purpose of social change. Conflict theory usually arise due to competition and limited resource that is feed by domination and power, rather than consensus and conformity. This is seen a lot on macro level. As a social worker, you will see and use conflict theory throughout your professional.
We each possess unique ideas, opinions, beliefs, and feelings about specific situations in life. This uniqueness is a large part of what makes us human. Because we all have our own individual way of looking at things, we each have a different viewpoint on what is proper or improper. With all that variation in society conflict is inevitable! Conflict is antagonistic in nature and we all must find ways to work through conflict issues both at work and at home. This paper describes different types of conflict, the influences I personally had in learning to deal with those conflicts, some of the conflicts that I commonly experience, how I go about dealing with those conflicts, and how conflict affects me on a personal level.
A. Starting in 1948, right in the middle of the Arab-Israeli war, the initiation of the Arab League boycott of Israel was a coherent effort by Arab League member states, whose intention was to isolate Israel financially and economically (Perez). The League ventured effortlessly to prevent Arab states and disincentivize non-Arabs from providing support to Israel or adding to Israel's economic stability. The boycott was also designed to deter Jewish immigration to the region (Consequences of the War). There was a total of 22 Middle Eastern and African countries that supported the boycott and its effort to prevent any and all economic growth in Israel. Throughout the period of this ongoing boycott, many trade barriers have been put in place, limiting trade between Israel and other countries (Slavicek 65).
