Generally, this might be the most-significant document in the History of the United States. This document showed all the horrible things that the crown had done to the colonists. It, therefore, contained all the major reasons as to why the U.S had to become its own independent country eventually. The British had been grossly the colonists’ rights through the imposition of taxes, and banning them from representing themselves in the Colony’s parliament thus making it impossible for them to formulate and pass laws that are significant to them. (Burgan, 2001) The colonists' main craving was to live prosperously and peacefully by having self-governance. Britain would however hear none of this. These declarations summed up each of these things to showcase the Crown and the colony government the need for these colonies to detach themselves from the British State. They thus outlined various examples of how the Colonialists were violating their basic human rights and dignity. These were very significant in getting the colonized population to understand the reasons why they had no other option of leading a dignified life but through separation from Britain. It gave a list of 27 things that he had done that led to the degradation of human rights in the colonies. The Declaration for Independence is considered propaganda by many since it served to disseminate information that was geared at helping the Americans to hurt Britain.
