(ELEMENT 1) Today’s generation, dating violence is alarming in the teenagers who are engaged in a dating relationship. The very reason, why dating violence is alarming it’s because usually teenagers are early engaged in a relationship without knowing the consequences that it may bring. On the previous related study, the student ranged in ages from 18 to 40 years old, are most likely involved in dating violence. It is well established that the younger a couple is, the more likely there is violence in the relationship (Stets & Straus, 1989). Dating violence will result to physical assault either in minor and severe assault. Assault on dating partners by students are relatively minor, such as shoring partner in anger. Based on the study of Sugarman & Hotaling (1989), that the university studies have also indicated similar rates of physical assault by men and by women. And according to Stets & Straus (1990); Straus (1997), the most research on injuries from partner violence shows much higher of injury inflicted by men than women. However, the amount by which the male rates exceeds the female rate is often not very great. In an instance violence occur due to sexism or traditional attitudes that men are more powerful and has the control over the women. Only men perceived as having the traits necessary to govern an important social institution (Glick & Fiske, 1996) and responsible for providing the needs of a women. Sexism encompasses of two sets of sexist attitudes which would bring a positive (benevolent) or negative (hostile) thought to a women in a dating relationship. Benevolent gives positive view of a women as they treat them as to be protected. And the hostile sexism gives negative view to a woman, which would bring them down and treated as an incompetent individual. These two constructs subjectively entail opposite evaluative feeling tones toward the women (Glick & Fiske, 1996) and may result to a dating
