Cummins has been a leader in global business by selling its products and setting up facilities in over 190 countries worldwide. Cummins takes pride in the work that they do and in the high-quality products that are provided to its customers on a global level. You could say that Cummins has built a well-known name for itself since starting the business almost 100 years ago where many of the original employees have been replaced with descendants and other locals. To better achieve their success and remain competitive they must use a transitional strategy.

(Cummins announces restructuring and cost reduction actions, 2015) Responding to the economic downfall in time and cutting costs as needed is what brought Cummins to a stronger financial performance for 2017. Cummins had a reported total revenue increase in the second quarter of 2017 by 12.15% and their sales growth was more than 0.8% in the same quarter; Cummins net margin of 8.6% is higher than any of its competitors. (Cummins Inc. Comparisons to its Competitors, Market Share, and Competitiveness by Segment, 2018) Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that Cummins didn’t see a fallen revenue in certain segments. The Cummins engine segment fell by 17.47%. None of that affected other market shares though. Power Generation segment market increased by 4.31% and Filtration and Other segment market share revenues grew by 63.11 % and improved its overall market share to 17.39%. (Cummins Inc.
