There are challenges new teachers face when trying to adopt cultural pedagogy into a classroom. If a teacher does not understand the learning difficulties that are faced by English Language Learners (ELL) Students, they can wrongly misinterpret their learning abilities. Lew and Nelson (2016) conducted a study to identify if recent graduates were aware of culturally responsive teaching practices. The researcher interviewed sixteen recent graduates from the teachers’ education program who were teaching within the last two years. The use email and face- to face interview to conduct the study. Turner (2007) preparing a prospective teacher to be culturally diverse when working with students from a multicultural background. The investigates twenty prospective teacher vision statements, revealing five themes of culturally responsive literacy teaching. Turner (2007) describes goals as a place that teachers reproduce their strengths and expectations for their students and communities. They were five themes identified as a literacy community: Literacy should be the classroom, teacher as the orchestrator, students as the members, learning center the curriculum (the primary goal for literacy growth) and inspiring literacy for diverse students. The study aims to investigate challenges face by in-service teachers when placed in the classroom. The participants consist of 16 new teachers who graduated within two years from the education program. The teachers used different approaches from different scholars in their classroom management. They were two methods that the new teachers had exposed to, one consists of philosophies and tactics to develop a community of learners who fundamentally respect each other and their cultural environment.
