1. Research aims I suggest a “cultural competence training” as a key component of the implementation strategy to provide the intervention in the real world with fidelity. The cultural competence training can be a basic requirement for mental health professionals working with culturally diverse children in the school-based setting, as well as the strategy may improve the quality of school-based mental health interventions for East Asian immigrant children. A research question could be: Can the cultural competence training be an appropriate implementation strategy to reduce mental health problems among East Asian immigrant children? In general, there are many cultural barriers in mental health services that hinder the successful intervention providing among East Asian immigrant children. For the success of providing interventions for the immigrant children who have mental health problems, implementation of the cultural competence training strategy would be necessary. Because, I assume that cultural competence training begins with the increased self-awareness of the staff’s or the clinician’s own value towards cultural diversity and cultural dynamics as a result of interactions with East Asian immigrant children.
