1. The need for cultural health studies in this country is to help individuals in the health care field to be more aware of their patient’s culture and being able to understand their forms of medication and illness.
2. The rights that humans have, in the healthcare field , regardless of their status in the country is that they have the right to expect that the health care will respect their beliefs, values, and practices.
3. The benefits associated with providing culturally competent care is that patients are able to continue with their own personal beliefs, and values; not having the fear of being rejected in the health field or in any field.

The thing that surprised me the most when I read about the US Census and population data was the description about each group. I believed when a person talked about a certain race such as white, I never image that it also includes individuals that are Irish, German and much more.
5. To me, culture is what defines a certain race. Culture is a way to show one another their beliefs and values from their original homeland. Being able to bring a part of home, and also being able to share their stories.
6. My Parents had the most influence in teaching me cultural values and practices. I grew up in a household to always have an open mind when regarding other cultural values. My parents always showed me that having a different value in style, food, or any other value was not a negative situation, it was an opportunity to learn from others. Being able to see their point of view through their eyes.
7. The difference between cultural sensitivity and cultural competence is that cultural sensitivity is being aware of your words and actions. Cultural competence is being able to have an open mind when regarding a different
