The United States decided to interfere with the mexican revolution to further their foreign interests and decided that they wanted to back the constitutionalists so the helped give them weapons and funds to support the against the Zapatistas and Vallistas. The united states plan worked and the Constitutionalists took control of the presidency in 1914. To bring some sort of stability Carranza decided to meet with the leaders of the 2 rebel groups to hear what they wanted but the Zapatistas and Villistas decided to join together to take over mexico city instead and it was successful. The PRN party was eventually created to try and create some stability in the mexican government. The party eventually transformed into the PRI and remained effective for most of the 20th century. The revolution inspired a great deal of nationalism and inspired new books such as “la raza cosmica” which talked about the fifth cosmic race that were the mestizo giving them a sense of pride and an image of who they were. Education was also a large part in mexican society the schools that were built were open for girls, boys, rich, and poor alike. And after 72 years of political control by the PRI party in the 2000 election Vicente Fox a PAN party candidate won presidency, promising large amounts of change to the people but he never actually realized any of these goals falling short from a lot of the things he promised. One of those promises was to restructure NAFTA to benefit mexico instead of hurt it, although U.S based companies continued to pour in and take over mexican land and resource putting a lot of mexicans out of jobs and forcing them to go work for the U.S based companies, another large problem was the import tax on food became so low that mexico no longer used domestic
