The career path that I have chosen was computer engineering. I chose this career because I have spent my entire life around computers, and had experience working with programming languages and the hardware. I gained further interest in computer engineering after I took an AP Computer Science class in high school. In the class I was required to use programming languages to create different types of programs which challenged me. This inspired me to want to learn even more about the computer science field and to learn more java script and programming languages. I will also be required to learn and have experience with the programming language that they will require me to work with. The most frequently used programming languages right now would be C++, Java Script, and Python, so a safe bet when trying to get a job, is to have knowledge in these programming languages, how ever you can contact the company and find out which programming language you will have to work with to prepare yourself. Steps to advance in this career is to expand your knowledge on hardware and programming languages. For hardware, the better your understanding is with new hardware, the better you will be working in the field. And with programming languages, you will be able to avoid problems and solve them if they were to ever appear. Your experience and knowledge with programming languages is very crucial as mistakes in this field could cost lots of time, and sometimes even money, which is why there is a huge demand for computer programmers and …show more content…

Computer hardware engineers work to design, develop and test new computer parts, or work with old ones. For example, a newer graphics card could be worse than an older one, because the newer one was probably designed for people who mainly use their computer for office work, or games with less intense graphics that are better optimized. I personally feel confident and very excited to enter this career path. I believe that I will be able to advance my knowledge in programming languages and stay up to date with new advancements in the field. I also feel confident in my ability to be able to write code, and solve any mistakes that might occur. I do feel a bit nervous as the person that I did my informational interview told me that the consequences for mistakes on the job costs a lot of time and even thousands of dollars, however, this helps me better understand how important my job is, and will help keep me on my toes at all
