The Wife of Bath’s Tales takes place during King Arthur’s time in a land that used to be filled with fairies and elves. The story is about a knight, who was one of King Arthur’s knights. On the way home from hawking, the knight spots a maiden walking alone and he decides to forcefully rape her.
This was a really big crime during the time. The knight was to be trialed and have his head chopped off. But the queen and other ladies prayed and asked King Arthur to spare his life.
And so King Arthur then spares him. The queen then tells him that she would grant him his life if he were to answer a question “What it is that women most desire.” The queen then gives him a year to find the answer to the question.

Lanval falls in love with a fairy and she disappears on him, Lanval then slowly lusts over the fairy and misses her. This lust caused him to disrespect the queen and have him trialed. In the beginning of the story the wife of Baths, The knight rapes a maiden over lust.
Between the two stories there are misconnections, Lanval respects the women, while the knight in the other tale disrespects them, he disrespected the old woman he was forced to marry until she transformed herself into a beautiful lady.
3. The connections between “The Wife of Bath’s Tale” and “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Of course the real first connection would be is that they are made by the same author. The first real connection I could find is that both are in a predicament, Sir Gawain has to find a way to best the Green Knight, while the Knight in the Wife of Bath’s Tale has to endure a journey to find the best answer to what women desire. Both of them are given a one year time period to figure out their problem and finish it. It appears that women both play a part in these two tales as
