Has a very close friend of yours ever betrayed you under any circumstances? In the play Julius Caesar ,by William Shakespeare, both Brutus and Antony gave a speech at Caesar's funeral. Marc Antony speech was although more persuasive than Brutus speech. In act 3 Caesar was killed by Brutus, who had been one of his very close friend. Marc Antony was more understanding and emotion to the death of Caesar. However Brutus did not kill Caesar on a personal level, he killed him because he thought it was the best way to keep the people of Rome safe. Antony states “I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him” to make his crowd thing that was the only purpose of why, he was there but he then tries to turn the crowd a little against Brutus.The only reason he tries to turn the crowd against him was because he wanted Brutus and the people behind Caesar death to convince him that they killed Caesar only because that was the best for everyone but Antony was not quite convinced by them. Second of all, Antony begins to prove Brutus wrong about a lot of the things that he said would be going on if Caesar was still alive and ruled Rome. Brutus states “had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves,” Brutus never really had prove that Caesar would do all those bad things if he was still alive. He says that “but, as he was ambitious,I slew him” because of Caesar braveness Brutus killed him. Brutus was always honored because his ancestor freed Rome from there last ruler that is why he quote “not that i loved Caesar less, but that i loved Rome more” that is why he felt so responsible if anything bad happened to Rome or the people in it. However that gave him no right to believe that Caesar would become like all those other rulers
