2. Meiosis is the process of dividing in order to create new cells. This process occurs in germ and sex cells. Meiosis ends with 4 daughter cells and the chromosome number is cut in half, while in mitosis, there are 2 identical cells in the end. Meiosis and Mitosis go through the same process, but meiosis goes through it twice. Mitosis is similar to Meiosis, but it occurs in body or somatic cells. In this process, the parent cell duplicates. Mitosis is a process with 6 main steps, Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, and Cytokinesis. In Interphase, the first step, the cell begins to prepare for mitosis. In Prophase, each chromosome inside the cell condense and form small, tight structures and the nucleus will disappear. In Metaphase, the all the chromosomes line up in the center of the cell. In Anaphase, the chromosomes begin to move to the …show more content…

No living thing can survive without cells. Meiosis is needed because it occurs in all sexually reproducing organisms, which makeup mankind.

3. Atoms makeup our whole world, which is why there are such an important thing. Atoms have 3 main subatomic particles. These include electrons, neutrons and protons. Electrons have a negative charge and are located on the outside of a nucleus. The electron has a mass of 0 amu. Neutrons have a neutral charge and are located inside the nucleus. They have a mass of 1 amu. Protons have a positive charge and are too located inside the nucleus. Protons have a mass of 1 amu.

4. Dehydration is a method of food preservation. It is the process of removing water, juice, and moisture from a food. This creates a dry environment in the food, preventing bacteria growth. Dehydration can prevent spoilage and rotting, as well as slow down bacterial growth. This is because bacteria needs a moist environment to survive, so dry food will prevent it. Dehydration is mainly used with fruits, vegetables, pastas, and
