One of the needs for a civilization is to have a structured religion. Due to this there have been countless religions that have formed and also fallen throughout history. When religions are compared similarities can almost always be found, but they also have very drastic differences throughout their beliefs. The Hindu, Christian, and Islam religions all have many things of their beliefs that one can consider a similarity, but the differences overpower the similarities. Religions usually have a book or section of readings that they can refer to as a guide book. Each religion has slightly different beliefs on the afterlife, but the guide can be used as a way to ensure a positive outcome. Those religions are Christian and Islam. Christians believe that God possesses the characteristics of mercy and grace. That He is a loving and forgiving ruler that is to be respected, but these views are not commonly found in other religions. The Quran of the Islam religion teaches that god is to be feared. The Islam and Christian religions have many of the same references to historical figures. Stories such as Noah and Moses can both be found, and also Jesus is mentioned in the Quran. Each religion has drastically different thought processes as to taking the life of another human. A passage in The Quran states, “Away then with the people who believe not!” (292). They are able to make the wrong of killing a right due to this. Christians believe that all sins are equal, so that one does not have more power or consequences over the other. A sin is a sin. However, the killing of animals is excused due to the domain given over them. The Hindu practice that a man should only kill if called to battle.
