Communism
Communism, originated by the German philosopher and sociologist Karl Marx, began once he fled from the German authorities and started his new life in England. He was considered a threat to the political arena. Communism, in essence, is the government overpowering the people, distributing only small portions of needs to hard working people while keeping the rest of the labor productions to themselves. There are no private properties that exists among a communist group, only public ones. The riches of a wealthy man are confiscated through tax paying and given to the poor. Soon after, he became the commander and founder of the Red Army. He played a major role in the Russian Civil War. After all of his successes, he was unsuccessful in his attempts to rise against Joseph Stalin in the 20's along with multiple other failed attempts for success. Trotsky was then stripped from his titles and removed from any groups involving the Soviet Union. While in exile, he continued to plot against those who removed him from his place. In Animal Farm, Snowball was a leader of the animals that lived on the farm. He ran things in a rightful manner and made sure everything was in ship shape. He was simply trying to better the farm and prepare for life before, during, and after the rebellion. He was not overwhelmed by the power he had over the animals. He never really looked at the situation as "having power", rather than just trying to better the life of the animals. Snowball proposed an idea to make a windmill to help with the production of food on the farm. Napoleon, along with other animals, were not ecstatic about this idea. Napoleon, who did not like idea that Snowball had power over him, ran Snowball off the farm by training dogs to chase him away and serve as Napoleon's soldiers. This flag had a picture of a hammer and a sickle on it. The hammer and sickle represented the coming together of agriculture and industry. In the book Animal Farm, Snowball created a flag once the rebellion had started. This flag was green with a picture of a horn and a hoof painted on it. When researching further into this topic and comparing the two flags, it can clearly be seen that the horn and the hoof look identical to the hammer and the sickle of the communist. Perhaps the flag of the animals had a hidden meaning behind it, to represent agriculture and industry. After all, the animals were starting a new life where they farmed and harvested for themselves. Although in the book Snowball claims that the hoof and horn symbolized the animal's future life of the animals and that the two symbols were signs of Animalism, anyone with knowledge of the Russian Revolution flag would know that the animal's flag was their version of the communist
