Common Cold
The virus that causes the common cold is Rhinovirus.The history is symptoms in humans originated in birds around 200 years ago. First known case is rhinovirus discovered in 1956. Number of known cases every person can get it 3-5 times in a year. Number of deaths U.S and worldwide 4,500 in U.S and 500,000 worldwide.

Type of infection of the common cold is Endogenous and Exogenous. Common cold reservoir is upper respiratory tract. Portal of entry your mouth and nose. Portal of exit is also mouth and nose. Means of transmission is contaminated objects.Ease of transmission is air, direct contact and fomites. This virus can live on surfaces for many days.The ability to make you sick over time decreases.

Aside from these steps pneumonia follows, if the disease should persist further, it can get into the blood causing a systemic reaction resulting in the whole body being affected (Ballough). Some signs and symptoms of this disease are, “fever, malaise, cough, pleuritic chest pain, purulent or blood-tinged sputum” (Henry, 2013). Streptococcal pneumonia is spread through person-to-person contact through aerosol droplets affecting the respiratory tract causing it to get into the human body (Henry, 2013).
