Attending college provides life time benefits. However, the rising prices of tuition is making people second guess if college is worth going to. In the article “Is College Worth it? Clearly, new data say” Leonhardt claims the significance of going to college, and the advantages it holds. Later stating, “The decision not to attend college for fear that it’s a bad deal is among the most economically irrational decisions anybody could make in 2014.” I agree with Leonhardt 's claim, college is a smart choice, and fear or money should ncot stop you from attending. By going to college there are more job options, more opportunities, in the long run it saves you more money, and at the very least you have a degree to fall back on. Attending college is a economically smart thing to do because of the job options that arise with a degree. In other words, by going to college you increase your options. College can open up unexpected opportunities that aren’t always there for those who haven’t engaged in a higher level of education. Why should someone waste money when they can get a job instead and earn money. Kaufman claims , "Now, consider the cost of going to college. You risk taking on serious debt. You potentially take longer to develop the vital skills to be competitive in the world. You lose four years of building professional experience — and four years of earning money instead becomes four years of spending money". Going to college doesn 't have to turn into a giant pile of student debt. Plenty of people work and attend school at same time. Also, as previously mentioned education, is also more valuable than the price you pay for. It seem to be more expensive, but by attending you save money in the long run.
