Much Ado About Nothing is a lighthearted play that Shakespeare wrote between 1598 and 1600. It has been described as one of his "more mature romantic comedies" (Bevington, 216). This play focuses on two different relationships, formed by two pairs of lovers. The comparison between how people went about getting married back then and how they do it now is similar in some ways. Much Ado About Nothing portrays the manner in which people fall in love, the way they interact with each other and how they manage to get through the rough times without changing their love for one another. The two couples include the young ladies, who are cousins, Beatrice and Hero, and the gentlemen, Claudio and Benedick. There is a lot of obvious love between Hero and Claudio and he has come to claim her as his own. However, there is some bad blood that runs between Benedick and his Beatrice. Little do they know that they are made for each other.
I want to go to college for the wholesome intellectual stimulation and to get more involved with my community. College will be my last opportunity to do so before I enter the work force. At college I can be intellectually and academically challenged; I will be able to learn with friends who are as dedicated to learning and the pursuit of knowledge as I am. Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing is a play based around the theme of deception and love. The play hinges upon these deceptions and how they affect the characters.These deception can be good and lead to love; or be malevolent and lead to heartache. Don John uses malevolent deception to try and ruin the marriage of Hero and Claudio. Don Pedro, Leonato, Claudio, Hero and Ursula also use deception to try and bring Benedick and Beatrice together.
Sydney Carton picks up the pieces of his broken life and becomes a new man, which allows him to die with a clear conscience at La Guillotine. Carton is not the man he is first portrayed to be. His love for Lucie allowed him to change greatly. Carton’s final act of supreme courage for Darnay and Lucie in Paris was not an inspired emotional response, but a deliberate, carefully reasoned act. Sydney Carton managed to drastically change his life. His Love for Lucie let him experience feelings that he had long suppressed. He became a compassionate individual, and died with a clear conscience.

Although the two whaling ships pass by each other in close proximity, the men aboard the Goney, a Nantucket ship named for the Albatross, remain silent until monomaniac Ahab presents the captain with the familiar question “Have ye seen the White Whale?” disregarding any Gam etiquette of a friendly introduction and invitation to board the Pequod. Through Ahab’s lenses, he is “by no means unobservant of the paramount forms and usages of the sea” (Melville 125). He is solely dedicated to nature, and is trying to alter it by capturing the whale. The whale “is a mammiferous animal,” not one that an individual can take revenge on as if it is a human being (Melville 8). Being overly obsessed with the whale, the audience is made aware of Ahab’s “monomaniac thought of his soul” (Melville 166). My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
College, a gateway for expanding the horizons within our youth has many conflicting ideas due to it's cost, suggesting that it may not even be worth it. Yet thinking about having this privilege of exposing our minds to anything and everything we desire while providing ourselves with far more opportunity in the future makes every late night double shift, staying up until 3 am, living off ramen noodles well worth it.
Being the first one to attend college in my family has pushed me to continue my education. Now in today’s society a college degree is so important. I want my parents to be proud of me, and be happy with my high level career after college, and that starts with my education. I also hope to be an influence on my younger brother and show him that a college education is important. He looks up to me, and I need to be a good role model for him. I truly just want to get the best education and job for myself worth and make myself happy.
College terrifies the best of us with pricing of the college, atmosphere of it, and the total fear of not succeeding. In my mind, I have this dream that in college I will be the best I can be, achieve every goal I set, and go above and beyond of what I set myself to. I have always had that ambition when it came to my education. I knew I had support from family, friends, and teachers. The entertainment center offers a wood bound big screen television. It has awesome surround sound and complete remote features. It is equipped with a digital videodisc player, that adds to the televisions' clarity for life like action movies. The center also houses a full collection of digital videodisc movies for the families' viewing pleasure. The stereo is located in the top of the wall unit. It consists of a high-end receiver, a digital optical compact disc player, and the traditional double cassette player. These items allow very high quality music to be played at high and low volumes. The speakers are carefully placed to allow my family and guest to hear real quality surround. On the sides of the center are CD racks that have a wide array of music. There are two types of games available, a Nintendo 64 and a pool table. The pool table is a Brunswick Bristol with a slate top and quiet rubber pockets. This table and Nintendo allows for the family to enjoy a friendly game during the day for stress relief and recreation. A refrigerator is available with soothing refreshments and hardy snacks for family and friends to enjoy.
Often the protagonist of a novel becomes the hero in which he or she must sacrifice something in which they hold value in order to put others in front of him/herself. This is especially true in A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens but in an ironic fashion, Sydney Carton’s life has no significance nor was his image describe as perfect heroic figure such as the life of his counterpart, Charles Darnay. Sydney was alcoholic with a seemingly worthless life, he has no inspiration and nothing to live for. Carton really wants his life to have served some purpose, for him to have made a difference in the world. But, Sydney Carton’s life is made meaningful by the love that he feels towards Lucie Manette which led him to sacrifice his life in order for her and the people she loves to be happy and in return having resurrected himself by doing something that serves a purpose.
Throught the epic novel, Moby Dick, Herman Melville attempts to bring forth the pain and madness that one person can have. All of the men aboard the Pequod have heard of the legend of Moby Dick and some are afraid of it, but not Ahab. Ahab is filled with so much hatred for the White Whale. Ahab blames all the pain in his life on the White Whale. He believes that if he can kill the whale, he will not suffer anymore. Melville describes the hatred as “all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from adam down” telling of the limitless bounds of Ahab's hate. He has made Moby Dick the object of all his hate. Ahab believes that higher beings are against him, from that falsehood an aura surrounds Ahab that none of the other crewmen have. The aura and the pure rage he has, makes the men aboard the Pequod initially fear then come to join Ahab. In the start of the Pequod's journey the crewmen are terrified of Ahab, but by the end they are 30 men working as one coherent unit.
