When I was younger, like every kid, I believed that the sky was the limit and anything was possible. I wanted to become a fashion designer, an artist, a singer, a musician, a chef, an actress, and a dancer all the while solving the world's problems as the president of the United States. Having grown older, I have come to learn that life is neither simple nor complex but life is. It will always put you on an unexpected voyage to the unknown. As I exited the port of the protective and nurturing embrace of homeschooling, I entered the port of public schooling and received my first reality check. I could not do all the things I wanted at five and I definitely did not want the responsibility of being president. However, I acquired a fascination of designing and building with my hands. In seventh grade, I entered the Argonne National Laboratory Car Race, and fascination became desire. Even though my team didn't win, and I was only exposed to the designing process of cars, the desire for engineering cars was very abrupt and specific. Now having more confidence, I believed that I could finally navigate the waves of life. I entered King College Preparatory High School’s engineering program. With a high interest in the process of designing and building cars, I could now see them in action. My eyes were opened to the many disciplines under the topic of engineering. Desire had developed itself into something deeper, as now I had a zeal for engineering and all that it had to offer. King presented me with an opportunity to work with an engineering program titled Spark at a company named HNTB.
