1.) Which of the eight source of complexity for today’s decision makers are evident in this case? Explain your choices.
Multiply criteria— Cirque du Soleil a combination of cultures, an array of artistic talents from around the world; such as, stagecraft (i.e. makeup, costumes, and prop builders), performers both circus and theater, New Age music, and many more people locate behind the scene that also contribute to Cirque success. All these areas tied together created a spectacular show. Partner’s investment paid back and more with the money earned from the shows unique brand. (Kreitner & Cassidy, pp. 234-236)
Risk and uncertainty— asking for $1 million from Quebec's government to put on a show together to celebrate 450th Anniversary of the city’s founding. To a mixture, as Dragone calls it, a “transdisciplinary experience” that has become Cirque du Soleil brand trademark with just the right blend of circus, live music, theater, and stagecrafters. After Quebec, Laliberte, and Gauthier, with risk and uncertainty, took their show and went to an Arts Festival in Los Angeles and with a standing ovation, Cirque du Soleil became a formidable organization of talent. The company’s future depends on its ability to sustain the culture of risk taking. The owners made sure that their brand would not be just another drop of water lost in the waves of the ocean; want they wanted was for their outstanding performers to standout and be the crest of the wave. (Kreitner & Cassidy, pp. 234-236)
Intangibles—Cirque du Soleil reputation and brand name are intangibles resources. Just as the creative people who produce the shows with groundbreaking technology. Specialty equipment used by the trapeze artists when the used the “indoor evaporating lake” i...

...ate. The creative thinking of Laliberte and Gauthier produced a greater reward than either could have imagined. (Kreitner & Cassidy, pp. 234-236)
6.) What is the secret of Cirque du Soleil’s success?
The most important was the brand name, for it represented excellence and quality. Quality joined with anticipation is a unique marriage of diverse arts, circuses acts, and a local street entertainer, for that makes Cirque du Soleil a success; this unique combination forms a success uniquely their own. In addition, each show never had the same theme. Then part of the success was the pace of the developing production of each show, which took three years or longer. Success, Lamarre is that, “We let the creative people run it.” (Kreitner & Cassidy, p. 236)

The audience is an important factor to determine the success of a spectacle. It is known that there is no spectacle without audience. The musical theater presentations are known for their number of people, which according to the Broadway League (n.d.), the 2013 season reached attendance of 11.57 million. However, the number of spectators has been decreased in comparison with the peak of popularity for musicals in the last century. The first reason for that is that the spectators of musical theater presentations were a more specific group such as wealthy and intellectual people that used to go to this type of presentation, and this pattern has been consistent until now, as it can be seen in the price of a Broadway spectacle that is very expensive. Second, the spectators have to go where the spectacles are set up, which makes the live presenta...
Li’s passion for ballet shows on and off stage through his arabesques, flexibility, fouettés, grande jeté and pirouettes that were nothing less than perfection. I understood that becoming a dancer requires commitment, passion and having a great memory as there’s many moves, routines and ballet terms that you need to learn. When I was performing on stage, I felt free and that I could own the stage as it felt like it was my second home. I also felt complete within myself just as Li felt. To perform on stage, you need to be light and graceful along with connecting to the music using precise steps, poses and formal gestures. The film used dance, music, scenery, and costumes to portray a story characterised by Li’s dance. Classical ballet dancers require the utmost grace and I’ve found that you also need a tremendous level of concentration and memory. This portrays when his choreographer Ben Stevenson asked Li Cunxin to replace the main male role due to an injury on the day of the performance to memorise new dances and perform them in front of an enormous crowd. Many of my performances have been in a group where we all need to be in sync and work together. This film highlighted that in order to become a professional ballet dancer, you have to prepare to work extremely hard no matter how gruelling the schedule is in order to

...ilm have the ability to impact our perceptions of others, and they also have the ability to impact the perceptions we have concerning ourselves. Performing arts can be used to create a space to for us to be able to examine areas of our lives, and the lives of others, that we might otherwise not wish to look at. When we do make a space to examine our attitudes, feelings and behaviors, including the outcomes that they may have on others, we may find in our own selves a greater degree of compassion and willingness to accept human imperfection. In doing so, we become more accountable to ourselves and to society as a whole.

...hat the drag show can be interpreted from different point of view. I specifically focused on how the event could appear to everyone to be very attractive. The reason why people perceived the Annual Drag Show was entertaining is not only because the performance itself was interesting, but also because it provided unusual experiences. Escaping from the daily routine, meeting people from the minority group, breaking the group norm, and expressing one’s suppressed identity were the unusual experiences that were given by the drag show, and also those were the different ways to enjoy the event. We often do not pay much attention to how others perceive the world. Needless to say, people see the world through their own lenses and interpret the same world in different ways. The Fourth Annual Drag Show of Pasadena City College was a perfect example to examine such a tendency.
The atmosphere entertainment program at the Paris Las Vegas should, at its base, reflect the duality of the property: the artistry and classicism of the French methods of entertaining and living with the sensual allure and thrilling vibe of the Las Vegas Strip. Orion Productions proposes three variable programs, all which can be interchanged and combined to accommodate for high and lower traffic days and special casino and hotel promotions. Both male and female dancers will be enlisted for the program, to capture the romantic ambiance of a Parisian interlude or getaway. Each one of the performers will be chosen by Paris Las Vegas’ management through a casting call, and only performers expressly selected by management will be featured in the entertainment program.
La Goulue was printed in about 3,000 copies, advertising the famous dancers La Goulue and "No-Bones" Valentin, and also the new Paris dance hall Moulin Rouge. The sensational impact of the Moulin Rouge poster can be attributed to Lautrec’s sophisticated use of a number of dynamic formal devices such as simplification, Fragmentation, movement and exaggeration
Without light, the theatre cannot exist, that much is certain. As actors, as audience members, as technical visionaries, we are only as powerful as the light we are given. The extent to which we depend upon light in performance has changed dramatically throughout history, however, as light technology developed and expanded. In the history of performance, the artistic community is constantly victim to the limits of lighting technology, and exponentially altered by breakthroughs. From the utilization of candles and natural light to isolated light and electricity, the histories of illumination and theatre are virtually inseparable, and continue to push the boundaries of live performance.
Performing- The performing stage is where everyone is clearly aware on what they’re doing and the purpose of what they’re doing. Everyone is able to share their ideas with others. Confidence is showed among the team members as their able to communicate to other team members without help or assistance from the leader. They can take charge of their own ideas. The team focus on achieving their goals .Although the team can disagreement with...
A young girl steps out of a yellow cab with a sparkle in her eye. As she looks up, she sees the biggest and brightest marquee hovering over Sixth Avenue, on the corner of Fiftieth Street. Wearing her finest red dress and paten strapped shoes, she grabs her mother’s hand and smiles with excitement. Walking into the largest indoor theatre in the world, this young girl is about to experience a spectacular like she has never seen before. New York City has forever marked the heart of this seven-year-old girl. For this one experience eternally transformed her view of the theater. After entering Radio City Music Hall and seeing the glistening chandelier hanging from above, the magical charm of this New York City landmark will forever be engraved. A “palace created for the people”, Radio City Music Hall is a place for entertainment, amusement, elevation, and inspiration (“History”). If the history wasn’t enough to keep Radio City alive, the future continues to look bright. Radio City is not only an artifact of the past, but the origin for the future. With advanced innovations and consistent pressure to compete with the rest of New York City, Radio City Music Hall thrives as the showplace of the nation.
On May 29, 1913 when Diaghilev’s masterpiece debuted at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees, the response of the audience was overwhelming in their shock at the erotic and unconventional nature of the dance. What made this performance different then what anyone in Western Europe had ever seen before was its jarring and sexual nature. Rather than the music and choreography be one, flowing, coherent unit, it was instead rather choppy and dissonant which most likely caught the naive audience off guard. The nature of this ballet is described many times t...

In this essay, I aim to discuss the issue whether imagination is more important than knowledge. “For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there will ever be to know and understand” (Albert Einstein).
