No More Smoke around Campus! During breaks between classes, students go outside around campus and smoke cigarettes. When the student is smoking, they don’t care about their surroundings and the people which can be affected by second hand smoking. Majority of people with second hand smoking haven’t touched a cigarette in their life. Also, people with asthma can have their symptoms worsened or have an asthma attack. The trail of smoke can negatively affect the inflamed bronchial passages through the lungs and cause an asthma episode. Anyone that is pregnant on campus may have children with birth defects and negative effects in the womb. A major reason not to smoke in general is due to all the negative effect of smoking such as cancer.

In the time spent on campus, a student should not have to breathe air with thousands of chemicals from a smoke cloud. If smoking was pushed towards a smoking area or private section for smokers only, then smoking should be allowed on campus. When a person with asthma passes by a person smoking, they start to have an asthma attack lasting a long period of time since they can’t receive fresh air to breathe. This is due to their bronchial passages becoming inflamed through their lungs which makes breathing a tougher task for them. Once the chemicals from the smoke enters their lungs, a feeling of a firm grip to their chest arises to them. As a result, if smokers are banned from campus or limited towards an area where they can be avoided, everyone will be happier. Majority of the time, a person who smokes will just smoke to stop the urges.
