The way in which they function as a moral standard for the people who share the beliefs are very similar to each other. Many of their religious beliefs and practices are the same; they both believe in a single god. Both Islam and Catholicism share the beliefs that you must submit to only one god. This god sees and knows everything. He passes judgment. In these ways Islam is similar to Christianity.
Catholicism and Islam contrast more than they show similarity. Catholicism is more oriented towards everyone because it gives women and minorities the same rights as men, it allows them to actively participate. Whereas Islam is geared towards a more patriarchal society; women were considered the property of men. Another difference is that Christianity became popular during a time of social, political, and religious conflict. Islam arose during a relatively stagnant period in history. Christianity was a religion that appealed to everyone: Jews and gentiles; men and women; rich and poor.
Jesus claimed to be the messiah; he taught his ideas peacefully, he did not believe that anyone should be forced to believe him. During the crusades, however, many Christians would kill any Muslims they found, sometimes torture and even eat them. Ironically, Mohammed was visited by the angel Gabriel, he did not claim to be anything higher than anyone else. He was involved in raiding caravans and was quite forceful in promoting his views - he took the city of Mecca and did what he thought was right. When the Muslims were involved in the jihad, or holy war, they treated Christian prisoners very well, they would not kill women or children, as they were forbidden from doing so.
Mohammed believed that “Jews and Christians had deliberately distorted the original messages. Mohammed claimed that the Koran was the most perfect guide for worshipping Allah.” This is understood to mean that Muslims believe Jews and Christians to be less righteous than themselves.
The reason that Christians and Muslims do not get along is because of the all the differences that exist between them and the single parallelism that they both want the land near the Arabian Peninsula.
They each contributed certain traits to help build a stronger, more structured civilization. Although each religion shares many similarities, they are all unique. Christianity helped to end human sacrifice and slavery making human life more valuable. Judaism focused especially on laws and values. Judaism specialized in giving the western civilization a sense of structure in such a traditional time. Finally, Islam help to build a manner of respect. Not just to the wealthy or well-known, they made it a necessity to be polite and kind to all social statuses equally. All of these contributions added together fabricated a more sensible and well-structured
Although there are some aberrations in Christianity and Islam, there are many more similarities between the two. Those who practice Christianity consider being Muslim taboo because they are said to have renounced Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. Aside from that factor, most practices are equal. Sadly, most Muslims and Christians will never get along because in their eyes, the few differences are colossal enough to keep them divided. Each side is too blinded by the error of the others ways to see how analogous to one another they actually are.
This all started in 610 CE, in a small cave on Mount Hira. Here Muhammad received a special word from allah. He spoke of the importance of charity and giving to the weak and poor. He also said that Muslims who do goods works shall enter paradise. This is something people can do to make sure they go to heaven. lamic religion is one of the biggest religions in the world. Like in document B it says “Those who submit to God and accept the true faith; who are devoted sincere, patient, humble, charitable, and chaste; who fast and ever mindful of God- on these, both men and women, God will bestow forgiveness and rich recommence.” And that means the God will accept the ones who follow and will charise him. And this is important because this was Isone of the first things in there bible that everyone has to know.
It is the belief of some that the divergent cultural worldviews and political tensions have more to do with the conflict than with religion, and attempts were made by Muslims as well as Christians to seek a common ground and involve in respectful dialogue.
Both Christianity and Islam mirror Judaism. From Judaism, Christianity and Islam derived the doctrines of monotheism, prophecy, resurrection, and a belief in the existence of heaven and hell. Both Islam and Christianity have a holy book. Christians consider the Bible the inspired word of God, however Muslims believe that the Koran is the literal word of God. Mohammed was merely transcribing the words of Allah, much as a court reporter does. Muslims therefore attribute greater spiritual

However Muslims hold the belief that the Koran is the literal spoken breath of God. Mohammed was merely transcribing the words of Allah, much as a court reporter does. Christianity and Islam continue to be the two fastest growing religions in the world. Men and women, both Christian and Muslim, are now asking the question, must these two religions collide? Is there no common ground between them? Many Muslims are taught that Christianity seeks to eliminate Islam; that Christians have no knowledge or understanding of their faith; that Christians condemn Islam, and hold the teachings of Islamic Fundamentalism responsible for many if not all the terrorist activities throughout the world.
Catholicism. There are three major differences in the teaching of the two. Christianity teaches by scripture and what the bible says, where Catholicism teaches by tradition. They believe that the church is the judge of the truth. They also believe that salvation comes from doing works and that people can’t be sure of eternal life. Christians believe that salvation comes from admitting your sins, asking for forgiveness, and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. Catholics believe that Mary is the mediator between God and man, whereas Christians believe that Jesus Christ
The world religions of Islam and Christianity may have their differences to the naked eye, but when you take a closer look into their histories similarities arise. They both went through transformations that had drastic impacts on the way they were controlled and the way that the religion was taught to the followers. Christianity and Islam have both experienced splits between their members due to the fact that followers thought that their beliefs were the correct way to practice the religion. While these transformations are long in the past, the splits that have occurred within each religion continue to have lasting effects on Islam and Christianity to this day.
Most of the contemporary problems bedeviling our society are because of lack of proper spiritual anchorage. Civil and technological differentiations embodied in the media have aggravated the situation. Technological differentiation has undermined religion by taking the place of spirituality in adherents’ lives.
