Throughout my life I have learned many things about Christianity, however, in more recent years I have learned that my views and opinions of the world based on what I have learned as a Christian, are considered my worldview. The reason why this is significant is because it effects how I believe the world came into being, an issue Dr. Lam addresses in his article. Dr. Lam also focuses in his paper on explaining why our Creator is different from others, and what makes Him unique as a whole. In this paper I will explain what my thoughts are on the points Dr. Lam makes in his paper, and discuss how his points have affected my own thoughts and opinions.
In Dr. Lam’s article he talks about three main points, the first one focuses on God as the supreme creator, the second one focuses on the idea that creation is a good thing, and the third one focuses how both the human body, as well as, the heavens and earth are God’s temple. Lam’s article, and considering the points I do and do not agree with him on, I have to say that my thoughts have definitely been affected. Something that stood out to me the most was the concept of creation being a good thing. I have always enjoyed studying about gods and goddesses and stories of old in general, but I had never really grasped the concept that in many of these stories the creation of earth or mankind was not considered a good thing. I distinctly remember old stories as a matter of fact where gods were punished for helping mankind. But, as a Christian my worldview is completely different from this. For me I have the confidence that my God loves me and purposefully made me, and the world around me. This thought may seem simply in a way, but it affected not only how I view my own worldview, but also how I will study other worldviews going
The foundation of a Christian worldview is the belief in a personal God, creator and ruler of the universe. The Christian worldview views the world through God’s word, providing the framework for humanity to live by giving meaning and purpose to life. It defines who Jesus is, human nature, and how salvation is achieved. In essence it is the basis of which Christians behave, interact, interpret life and comprehend reality. A Christian worldview imparts confidence, answers to life’s problems, and hope for the future. In this paper I will discuss the essentials of a Christian worldview and an analysis of the influences, benefits, and difficulties sustaining the Christian faith.
The essay, “A Christian World View,” by Mickenzie Neely seeks to address some major themes that pertain to a Christian worldview. The essay, in summary, states that “serving others, accepting and giving grace, sacrifice, and justice are all essential to living for Christ.” This essay was presented in a way in which she used facts and scriptures from the Bible to support her point. This paper will analysis Neely’s main arguments and will evaluate my opinion of her writing. The main topics that apply to my Christian worldview are love, service, grace and forgiving.
In Charles Colson and Nancy Pearcy's essay, "Worldviews in Conflict," the authors evaluate the shifting cultural context of today's society and how Christianity fits into this situation. The essay compares the differing views between Christianity and today's worldview, and informs the reader on how to engage in today's culture. The "Worldviews in Conflict" is a reliable source because its authors, audience, publication, and purpose make it credible.
Although a worldview ensues what a person believes about the great questions of life, a biblical worldview stands far more intense since it’s filtered through the bible and the outlook stays Christ focused. The book of Romans in the Bible provides an example of what a biblical worldview should be like. As a result of Paul’s truths in Romans 1-8, believers have been able to grasp an understanding of the teachings that express the idea of a biblical worldview that God intended us to perceive.
The Christian Worldview consists of the Creator, His Creation and His son. The story began thousands of years ago and is still relevant today. This paper will give you a glimpse of the three main characters, how they relate to each other, and why I believe this is the only worldview that provides truth and hope for my life.
There are several aspects to consider when exploring the Christian worldview. There are many facets or denominations and they each have their own distinct beliefs and practices, but they all share the same fundamental beliefs. There are many aspects of the Christian worldview that determines one’s faith. It all begins with God and what he did and why he so great. What is Christianity and why has it been able to develop into a continuously growing and evolving religion?
Recognition of a person’s worldview can be found based on one’s answer to several reality questions surrounding God (origin), human nature (identity), reality (meaning/purpose), after life (destiny), values (morality or ethics). My own definition of worldview is a set of beliefs about the most important issues in life and my reaction to them. While in agreement with Jeff Baldwin’s eyeglass concept, I choose to compare my Christian worldview to an internal navigation system. When I am lost and need to be found, Christ is omnipresent. He knows my location and guides me in another direction.
In the past centuries scientific innovations have occupied people’s mind. People have been looking for answers about their existence with the help of science and the scientific method. But nothing has changed with people’s culture or behavior. However, something happened two thousand years ago that influenced and changed how some people perceive the world and self existence. It was the beginning of Christianity.
Although we may not all see eye to eye, we all still have our own worldview. The central idea of a worldview is to be the different beliefs that is an understanding of how we see the world around us. It will be understood by how a person feels about different emotions and ideas that are encountered on a daily basis. A worldview is a response of our heart or inner being: our intellect, emotion and will. (Weider, Gutierrez,59) We create our own personal worldview based on things we believe are true and norms to society. A philosophy of Christian education encompasses many aspects that overlap areas of a child 's life that could not be nurtured and molded in a public school setting. Therefore, the Christian philosophy of education must include so much more. The Bible must be used as the basis for the education of children. A child should be taught in a way that will best benefit the individual that God created. He should be trained in his own way, the way he learns best. In order to do that, teachers must be able to assess their students in a manner that will reveal the learning styles that best fit each child. ... In order to understand the Bible we must read it as the Psalmist says “O how I love Thy law! It is my meditation all the day.” (Psa. 119:97). However there some suggestions to cope with the study of the Bible in effective manner. The Bible was written a long time ago before us. That is why we need to deal with some back grounds, context, and theology differs with our time. Some hermeneutics principles can help us how to work in the better frame of interpret the Bible, such as the literary context, historical context and how to compare Scripture.
The religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are alike in many ways but they also share many differences. Judaism and Christianity use the bible in their holy scriptures, while Islam does not. Jesus Christ is a part of all three religions as Christianity and Islam developed from Judaism. Many believe that the three religions worship, pray to, and focus on the same god. They believe this as many of the prophets are they share much in common as they share many beliefs. However, the followers of the three religions pray differently and in different places. the religions believe that their god created the world and everything in the world. The three Abrahamic religions have different histories, yet they share many similarities and difference.
