For children to succeed in society, they must first be trained, and given the skills academically which they require, in order to achieve. I want to be this person. My interests in children led me to my choice of employment. Over the past year, I have worked as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, working in both the Breakfast and After School Clubs, in a Christian Ethos school. I am, and have demonstrated, my full commitment to each and every child throughout both academic years and have supported the children to do their best in all areas of the curriculum. I am incredibly proud of my qualifications as they have enhanced the knowledge and skills I need in order for me to do well in educational settings. During my time studying and now working, I have worked with in all areas of a school and have an in depth understanding of both the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage where I can use my knowledge in order to support and guide children to develop well educationally in all areas. I believe I have many of the skills and attributes required to become an outstanding teacher. I have had feedback at my appraisal from my manager that I am extremely hardworking in all aspects of my current role, from making displays to developing children’s learning through reading and writing. I am also very enthusiastic, keen and motivated, and as a real team player, I am always happy to do anything for anyone. I am flexible, and able to work in all areas of the school, which has enhanced my teaching and supporting of all children. Punctuality and good time management are key to being an outstanding primary school teacher, and I demonstrate this work ethic daily. I have strong values, and I am respectful and value my integrity. I have excellent communication skills, including listening to all children, staff and parents. I have experience of children feeling comfortable in coming to me if they have any worries. I always have their safety and best interests at heart throughout anything they disclose to me, and I am fully up to date with safeguarding procedures.
