Two of the fundamental issues of development that scholars have addressed include how nature differs from nurture this is explained by how our surroundings affect our genetics. The second issue is continuity differs from discontinuity. Continuity is a smooth process that it is not interrupted unlike discontinuity. The bio-physical frame work includes biological forces which is genetic. Chromosomes are formed by structures inside cells and the cells contain strands of genes. Genes produce everything the body needs. Children's heredity becomes influenced by the environment in which they grow up in because a child may be born naturally secure and the environment can eventually cause them to become insecure. Temperament is the personality and includes the traits of easy, difficult or slow. These traits can change as a child grows depending on how the parent deals with each aspect. By the age of nine months a child should be able to express all basic emotions. They can show fear, happiness and even sadness.
