Chemistry is “the science that deals with the composition and properties of substances and various elementary forms of matter”. There are five branches of chemistry. There is organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry. We are affected by chemistry everyday. Whether it is the air we breathe or what is in soil, chemistry is everywhere. You can get various careers that involve the use of chemistry. You can be a forensic chemist, a geochemist, or even a food chemist. They each are unique in their very own way and require different abilities.

Crimes. They are happening everyday and we need people to help solve these mysteries. Who has the ability to help analyze the evidence? That's right; forensic chemists. Whether it is blood on an article of clothing or a mysterious substance on the floor, forensic chemists can use these things to help solve a crime. Forensic chemists are needed to solve crimes and bring justice to the people who have been harmed. A career in forensic chemistry is for you if you like to bring justice using science.

You must go to school in order to be a forensic chemist. A person who is pursuing the path of a forensic chemist goes to school usually for four to six years. You should have a four year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a subject in life science, physical science, or engineering. You must also have a strong background in criminalistics, chemistry, and instrumental analysis.
