Character Analysis Of Mrs. Turpin's 'Revelation'

The plot of “Revelation” makes me think about how people are in our society, but this goes to show you that people have not change. In the beginning of the story Mrs. Turpin believe that she could talk to people any way she wanted to because she had a higher position in society. Also is very happy and excited person; however, that all changed when she was called a “Demon” by another person that is in the hospital. She at the hospital with her husband Claude because had a hurt foot. One little girl name Mary Grace had to help make sense of all the decisions she had made in her life. Turpin and Claude at the hospital Mary Grace was staring at them like are Extra-Terrestrial. Mrs. Turpin got tired of Mary Grace looking at her, so she asks Mary “what do you have to say to me” (111). The girls sit there for several minutes before she even respond to what they said to her. In addition, she finally came out and said, “Return to the pits” (178) she telling them to go back to the whole that they crawled out of. These two people did not get along at all, but Mrs. Turpin did rethink some of her decision. There are two families at the hospital because they have sick love ones. Claude Turpin who had an injure leg and a little boy with an ulcer. Mrs. Turpin believes that mother of the low class family was trashy and ignorant; also, Mrs. Turpin confronted the girl and she told, “To back the hell were she came from” (178). Mrs. Turpin got upset at what Mary Grace said to her, but she soon realized that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. After fighting with Mary Grace, she realized that she had been mistreating people all her life, but she said that only God could change her. At the end of the story Mrs. Turpin stood the end of property think God for letting her see another day and praising him letting her know who she really is. Finally, this story can teach you two different lessons the first one is social class stills means something to some of use. Second, that when you mistreat others people God has a way of opening your eyes to let you know that you need to change before you leave this
