In the book To Kill A Mockingbird Scouts best friend is Charles Baker Harris, also known as Dill. Dill is Scout and Jems neighbor in the summer, Scout says that “Dill was a curiosity” (Lee 8) and says “his laugh was sudden and happy” (Lee ???). Scout’s first impression of Dill is a good one and the traits Dill has that she admires only strengthen their relationship.
