Someone who can take the risk to prove himself or lose everything trying feel the need to prove themselves to people not just for the fun of it. A rebel takes the risk of losing everything he/or she has ever known. In into the wild a rebel means to abandon everything and everyone you’ve ever known and just completely shut everyone out. Like Chris shut everyone out of his life. Chris McCandless said “ “I don’t want to know what time it is. I don’t want to know what day it is or where I am. None of that matters.” (Krakauer 7). He wanted to push his life to the limits and he thought his family was holding him back. When Chris left everyone searched for him but no one could find him so they assumed he died and Chris had to live with that. One thing about being a “rebel” you have to live with all the things you do including shutting everyone out. Again like Chris who didn't feel the normal life was enough. In Why We Wear The Mask the author Paul Dunbar said “We wear the mask that grins and lies, It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—”. Chris hid his true emotions from everyone when they could have helped Chris through it. Being a “rebel” has negative sides too. I picked this quote because i felt that it just gets right to the point this quote is true for everyone, it's just human nature to hide emotions from people. To really open up to people you have tp trust them, if you tell the wrong people how you really feel it could come back to bite you. Chris was tired of being just some regular person wanted adventure and to see the world, also just to forget about everything and everyone. Chris liked to explore and have adventure’s, but he was stuck living a normal life and was ready to move on to the adventurous lifestyle. In The Road Not Taken Robert Frost said “And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood”. This quote has to do with Chris because he was stuck doing one thing and he didn't want to just be stuck living a normal lifestyle and he couldn't live 2 lifestyles so he thought about it and all the consequences and chose the road he wanted to live.
