It is a global nongovernmental organization that is campaigning for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. It is independent of any political ideology, economic interest or religion. These challenges can be seen from Internal and External Perspective. The Internal challenges are those emanating from within, such as the limitation of resources; manpower and finance. External challenges are those facing them at the grassroots level; difficulty to easily find someone talking to them in countries where there are repressive governments. Their respondents also face severe harassment only for talking to officers from Amnesty International. I can mention Dr. Merera Gudina, a prominent high-profile Oromo Scholar and Politician, chairman of the Oromo Federalist Congress who is being jailed for his unreserved reporting of the facts to human right organizations including Amnesty International.
