Dating has evolved over the years, so now we comprehend evolution is not always an improvement. A traditional date would provide communication, familiarizing, and a lasting first impression. Now cell phones, modern dates and social media have made dating worse. Cell phones have interfered with couples communicating in dates, dates at a club instead of diner have made it impossible to get to know someone, and social media now give first impression of anyone. A bad date can happen at any time to anyone, but in this day and age the chances have increased thanks to cell phones. Before, a cell phone would not interrupt a date; couples would be obligated to communicate with one another. Communication is a key factor to determining whether the couple will make it all the way to marriage. Now, when walking into any restaurant you see couple sitting across each other staring straight down into the glowing screens. This is not an improvement in dating. Being able to talk with the person and having a fun time is perfect, but as dating changed it has left out the talking and getting to know the other person. Diner and a movie is the ideal date, but has also changed for the worse. Currently, a date takes place at a club with loud music making it impossible to actually talk and become acquainted. Everyone has attended that party with loud music; that to be able to communicate, everyone literally screams in the other person’s ear and even then they totally misunderstand what was said.
