THE CATHOLICISM SUBCULTURE
“Many people today are calling for modern religion, and specifically Christianity, to be re-imbedded in the cosmos, so that religion might become a real force in providing the ethical and spiritual energy for the critical task of reversing the degradation of the Earth”, (Vincent Rossi 05, p4). The Catholic subculture is one of the oldest subculture I have known seen my childhood. From my personal study from school, the Catholic subculture has a body of organization that devoted their live to serve God. From the society I grew up in Muslims community with Catholic community. We regard the Catholic subculture to be one community by helping each other in Bahrain; I find it interesting to study about the catholic subculture because of how amassing the leadership position is established from the accident. Form the knowledge I obtain, every priest must pass through steps in their life to be at the highest position. The twentieth century has witnessed a veritable explosion of interest in the subject of culture in general and Catholic subculture in particular. Culture is essential to the formation of the humanity. A proper understanding of culture is necessary for a more complete appreciation of the past, a sound assessment of the present and prudent planning for the future. Christian culture is Incarnational and while man can gain great insight regarding the nature and structure of culture, one must always understand and respect it as a great mystery. One becomes a Roman Catholic through the sacrament of Baptism. All baptized Catholics are expected to live out their faith in whatever culture and country they find themselves. This is seen by the celebration of the sacraments, especially the Eucharist on Sundays, by developing a prayer life with God, and by service to others, especially the poor. Catholics also perform fasting like all the other major religions. This particular fasting is called Lent and it happens 40 days before Easter Sunday. This act of worship is way to bring the bodies under the control of the soul and also as a way of doing repentance from wrongdoing. Most followers usually give up a particular craving for the duration of the 40 days. In addition to that, followers are expected to abstain from eating meat and also limit daily intake to only one meal.
