Symbolism throughout books and pieces of literature is almost as constant as the blue tint of the sky or the impending nature of thunder after lightening. Within practically every story or beginning is a concrete symbol that drives stories, actions or literaries. Without these symbols, literature would be interpreted as simplistic words on a page without any connection between readers and characters or actions. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D.
